Meet Sue Theodoru! Sue (67) has been married to her husband Alex for 45 years!  That’s amazing!  Together they have two grown sons, Mark and Nick and three grandchildren, Blake, Ava and Bryce.  Another amazing realization for Sue is the fact that she’s been a member at Bellin Health Fitness for over 25 years.  She started working out at the Bellin Health Connection on Webster Avenue and then switched over to our Ashwaubenon location when it was built and has been coming ever since.

Sue has always been active in her life but she wanted to increase her flexibility, strength and endurance. Working towards these goals not only made her feel better physically but also made her better about life as a whole.

Over the years, Sue has been faced with a lot of obstacles; a wrist fracture, a bunion removed, and four abdominal surgeries. I’m positive that the fact she was physically fit helped her to recover even faster. Through it all, Sue kept her thoughts on her recovery and getting back to the gym.

The Bellin Fitness group fitness classes have helped Sue find her fit in the exercise world. She loves the dynamic of group fitness with its diversity of class formats and knowledgeable instructors as well as the camaraderie of the participants.

Sue’s life hasn’t really changed that much because she still feels as flexible and strong as she did when she was 20. She is so happy with the fact that she has very little limitations when she works out in the group fitness classes.  An even happier fact is…since retiring in 2013, she gets to come to class every day!

When I asked Sue, what advice would you give to help others, she replied “Be the owner of your health.” She feels that you must take control of your health so you can decrease your chance of falls as you age and increase your cardiovascular health to keep our bodies moving.
