Sandy, a runner in the past, had not been new to fitness.  Sandy watched her mother at the age of 89 break her hip.  She asked herself, “What would happen if that happened to me?”  One day she saw personal trainer Eydie Strand on the TRX suspension trainer with clients and thought, “I could do that.”

Sandy believes there is a misconception on what the right fitness training should be.  She says that you might have to make some short term sacrifices for the long-term benefits, which can be challenging at times.  Focusing on nutrition and wellness was a huge key to her success.

Bellin Fitness Center had the most knowledgeable trainers and they were exceptional in motivating her no matter where she was on the journey.  The size of the facilities that Bellin Fitness Center has to offer was a big draw for Sandy to begin her journey here.

Sandy has worked with many of the trainers – Christian has helped her with her core training and adding cardio workouts without injuring herself.  Jan was the task master and helped her with the correct form for the exercises.  Sandy has also made strides in improving her nutrition.  With Eydie’s help she has gained the knowledge and cut out the bad sugars.

Sandy has some great advice for other people out there looking to start their own journey.  “Do not expect changes if you’re not willing to commit to making it happen.  Exercise is that important to prevent future diseases.  It’s a finding a balance and combination of mind-body-spirit that works for you to get you along your journey.”
