Amber Bomber

Amber Bomber

Amber (pictured right with long time friend Leslie Servais) is 36 years old and married to her Husband Andy. They have no children yet, but Amber is currently expecting. They have two golden retrievers, Daisy who is 10 years old and Eevee who is 2 years old. Amber is a Program Manager, Registered Dietitian and Health Educator for Bellin Weight Management.
Amber enjoys all sorts of activities outside of the fitness center. She loves almost anything outdoors and during any season of the year. She enjoys playing volleyball, fishing, biking, kayaking, snowshoeing, running races (road races and obstacle courses), hiking and of course walking her dogs.
Amber has set some goals for herself while participating at the fitness center. A short-term goal of hers is to maintain an adequate and safe fitness level throughout her pregnancy. A long-term goal of hers is to maintain her back health and prevent future issues as much as possible. She also wants to maintain her ability to run, keep up her strength, maintain good health and a healthy weight. Amber wants to be a good role model for her patients and also future child/children.
Amber started her fitness journey awhile back in 2007 but since then has found more motivation to keep her going. In 2010 she started working out with Leslie Servais since they started working together. Along the way Leslie has encouraged her to take group fitness classes with Eydie, then personal train with Dane Sutton. All three of them have helped show Amber what she was capable of doing; they pushed her and she loved it!
In 2011, Amber needed back surgery. She has a degenerative disc disease and had a disc that was badly herniated and required surgery. For some time prior to surgery Amber’s left leg was useless and she nearly lost all muscle mass and strength in her calf muscle. She had to take a year off of running and had to work hard a building the strength back up in her leg.
Since then Amber has had great accomplishments. Since she started her fitness journey in 2007, she has lost 50 pounds, completed 10 half marathons, completed one triathlon, completed her first full marathon, and Won Bellin’s Titletown Wellness Race Series for her age group in 2018.
Amber’s advice for others, “Don’t give up on something until you try. And then, still don’t give up! Practice makes progress! I never thought I could run a marathon, but I practiced and it happened! I never thought I could do a pull-up, now I can do 8 in a row! BELIEVE IN YOURSELF and keep a positive mind!”
