Nancy Karr

Nancy Karr

Nancy, age 62, is married and has a daughter and two grandchildren. She is a part-time book keeper for Haven Salon and Spa and says it’s the world’s best part-time job! She also volunteers as a financial secretary at Peace Lutheran Church. In her free time, Nancy enjoys reading, her favorite author is Lisa Scottaline, going to weight watchers meetings, and being outside in summer, to read of course.
When Nancy first came to the fitness center she had very high anxiety. She had never belonged to a fitness center before and was unsure of what to expect when it came to her initial assessment.
Since the first day, she has found that the Bellin Fitness Center was the perfect fit for her. She even comes in on her own now to workout, not just to meet with her trainer! “If it wasn’t for the referral from my doctor, I would have never came to the gym.” she says. Her Trainer, Abbey helped keep her motivated throughout her journey with encouragement, patience, and her great sense of humor and it kept her coming in.
Some of her current goals are to improve shoulder mobility, improve balance, and increase endurance. Some long-term goals are to walk more 5k’s. Last year Nancy participated in the Bellin for Women Pink Pumpkin 5k run/walk and that was a big accomplishment for her! She also wants to ride a bike with her grandchildren.
Nancy is very grateful for Bellin Fitness Center. It’s the only thing that has kept her moving all these years. She had to over come her fear of failure, embarrassment, and being self-conscious. Since Bellin Fitness Center, Nancy feels more confident and doesn’t feel like she is in the spot light. Her advice is, “Just do it! No one is looking at you while you are here, so do your thing!”
