Robert (Bob) is a retired engineer who loves to travel! He has one daughter, two grandchildren, and no pets because of his busy traveling schedule. Bob specifically enjoys traveling internationally. He has been to places like Venezuela, St. John Island, St. Martin, Dominican Republic, and Haiti. This summer/fall he will be venturing to Ireland, Portugal, and Spain.
Bob makes his fitness goals top priority because being able to move correctly helps him to continue his favorite hobby of traveling, which is a big priority for bob.
Bob currently personal trains with Liz and how they met is a pretty neat story. Bob had a question regarding one of the strength machines so he stopped at the front desk and was able to speak with Liz right away. He wanted to increase his strength so he started exploring more strength machines. When he got to the seated leg curl machine, he realized he needed some guidance to be sure he was using it correctly. While helping him with the leg curl machine, Liz asked “Have you had a new member orientation with a personal trainer?” He replied, “No.” So they scheduled one and from there on he realized he needed to learn more than just that one machine. So he purchased more sessions and continued to work with Liz. Ever since then, working with a personal trainer has become part of his exercise routine because there is no time in Bob’s traveling itinerary for him to be hung up by an injury.
Together they focus on increasing Bob’s overall strength because that is important to him. Since they met on the machines, they always leave time to do those. Bob has TRIPLED the amount of weight he can lift. Liz has alos added in hip mobility, core stabilization, and flexibility.
Bob has been a member since 2006, but he was motivated to begin working with a personal trainer when he realized he wasn’t making any progress on his own. He decided help was need, but it wasn’t easy. He had to overcome his muscle weakness to get to where he is today.
Bob’s advice is simple, “If you are not making the progress you expect, ask for help, work with a personal trainer.” His experience working with Liz has been very successful, and we are proud of Bob!
