Meet Robert Grignon! Bob (72) has a full life with a family of four children and seven grandchildren that he shares with his wife Arleen.

Bob’s fitness journey began when he started physical therapy to recover from having a severe stroke. His Physical Therapist at Rennes suggested that he work with a Personal Trainer in addition to his therapy to regain the strength that he lost.  Bob’s left side was severely affected from the stroke so he had to overcome having minimal muscle tone due to spending five weeks in bed.

In November 2017, Bob was referred to Bellin Health Fitness where he works with certified Personal Trainers, Liza Margelofsky and Katie Schumann. They work on building up Bob’s strength by using the NuStep and stretches.  Katie has also made his workouts fun by incorporating the use of a basketball in his exercises because Bob was a former basketball coach and loves the game.

Bob’s life has changed immensely because now he is strong enough to grab a bar to pull himself up to a standing position. He still has a lot of work to do but he has so much more positive energy and determination to continue to reach more goals.

The advice that Bob would give to others is to listen to your Physical Therapist and Personal Trainer. They are good at what they do and want you to succeed.
